It was low on sock. I guess the owner put in the wrong brand.

If he took it to the dealer i think they should just take it from him when it came in. He should not be driving that car.

          hahaha

i too was wondering if he used the sock he was wearing, you would htink that the time it takes to remove the shoe and the sock that you would be able to think twice about what you are doingl... and i don't see how a sock would seal the hole any better then leaving the hole open... hahaha ooo man this is too funny. those guys are being pretty nice to him considering....

wow. see, if i was worried about ever being able to afford such a car, i'm not anymore. that guy is a complete moron, and if morons can own e46 m3's... enzo here i come lol.

i can totally see that dumbass at a gas station taking his shoes and socks off, and if i would have seen that in person, i would have kicked him in the testicles, and informed him that he had just been kicked in the nuts

Pay for the regression-hypnotherapy and the transcript is all yours!

um, many years ago, on my first project car ('73 saab), I removed a dirty, torn/ratty piece of 'cardboard-looking' stuff from under the exhaust manifold...

3 starters later (one original, and two other covered under a very generous auto parts store 30-day warranty) I realized the 'cardboard-looking' stuff was an asbestos heat shield. Without the heat shield, the starters were getting baked like cookies.

Every single one of them pukes oil out the oil pan gasket after they get a few miles on them. Plus the fact that they do consume a bit...

I think it goes without saying the kid with the sock is in a league of his own...

I've spent the last two hours thinking of the punchline to his situation...

I have a mental image of him trying to fix the problem by feeding a bottle of downy fabric softener into the air intake.

I'll try to compile a list of all the dumb crap I've done (car-wise, anyway) and put together a separate post.

ps: I had a friend in college nearly set himself on fire while trying to patch a leaking fuel line with HEAT SHRINK tubing!
