Do people tell you to sell your car?

My car has been in my family since 91 (I drive an 89).

From the moment i first rode in the car when i was young (I was born in 92), ive been in love with this car. From the time I was born to the time i started driving the car, quite a bit of work had been done to the car. Of course maintanence had been done to the car, but the engine and tranny had been swapped once in its lifetime.

Ever since ive started driving it, I of course had to inherit the issues it had, which im willing to deal with cause i fucking love this car. I also currently make a pretty good income so i can spend more on it.

But for some reason when ever i run into a problem with the car, im constantly getting people telling me to just sell the car. "Its a money pit", "Its really just a piece of junk", "You need something more reliable".
Im honestly not ready to let this car go. Not only do i still think its a good car, but it had a lot of sentimental value to me. Im willing to spend the extra money go keep her going. Id rather be broken down on the side of the road with this car than any other car. Id rather stick with this, 1 i dont have a car payment, 2 I KNOW whats wrong with it, 3 theyre so simplistic i can do a lot of the work myself, 4 its a fucking awesome car. I dont care how much money my dad put into it prior to me driving the car. Why not put my money into it too? Things go out in old cars like this. I know there is a point to stop wasting money on a car, but my journey is far from over with is car.

So have you ever been told you should sell your car?

Is your car just a car, or does it have sentimental value to you?

Thought this would be a cool subject to talk about.
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

          THIS!

The people that tell you to sell your car are probably the kind of people that only use their car to get from point A to point B.

And yes my car does have a sentimental value to me.

I got one, and let me tell you, a e30 is so refreshing to drive after driving the e92 for 4 years. The e30 has so much more soul than the e92 M3.
Had a smooth purchase transaction with me?

I get this all the time. And, in times of weakness, I almost consider it. Then I drive the e30 and realize that it's never happening.

It's part of the e30 lifestyle man. Its tough for other people to understand the bond between a man and his chariot, and why car guys hang out with other car guys.

I won't sell the toys, should, but won't. every now and then I just get tired off all of the old stuff.

I drive a2010 E61 525Xdrive touring for work, and it is nice for the first 10 minutes, then it is just boring. working at a dealership, i drive brand new cars everyday, and am really happy driving home in my e30, even though those test drives in the new M cars on the autobahn are alot of fun.
