    Found Hockenheims for 325!!

so i found a set of 17x8 TSW Hockenheims for my 325i...they are used but in excellent condition. i actually came across these rims by accident one day when my frend asked me to drive him to his mechanic out in berkely to pick up his jetta. while i was at the shop waiting, the owner came out and complimented me on my e30, and said he used to have one also that was all suped up. then he said he remembered he still has the rims in his garage from his e30!!! so i look at them and they looked just like some BBS's, but i was already in the process of buying some other rims off of ebay (which i ended up getting screwed) so i told him i would come back some day and take a better look at the rims, since they were buried under some stairs and behind a massive tool box. so one month later (friday), i am in berkely buyin a new snowboard, and i remember the shop. so i stop by and ask the owner if he has time to pull the rims out, he says ok and i help him move a ton of crap, then pull the rims out and look at them. they are all mint, with just a lil curb rash on 2 of them, so i say to the owner SOLD!!! he sells them to me for $400, which is a great deal, since they have the center caps and everything, even have locking bolts for a bmw, and 2 of the rims have the hub shaved down a lil for better fitment on the back, with matching shorter wheel bolts. i am stoked, just put in an order for some 215/40/17's, hopefully i will have pics of the wheels to post up soon...no digicam of my own ... oh and i know ....

I had the 17x8's on my corrado... they looked tight on that car, but made it handle and feel like shit, they were SOOO heavy! and on a corrado, you can only run a 205/40/17 which is tiny.
they lookbadass, but are too heavy, IMO.
I paid $400 for my set 4 years ago with good Toyo T1S tires on them.

I used to have hocks on my car. they looked alright.. they're kinda ugly on a stock ride height car though.

I had a set of 16x7.5 TSWs (the blades, not hocks) on my '87 325 and hated how heavy they were, they killed the car's acceleration and made the car feel like it weighed about 500lbs heavier with all the extra unsprung weight. They did help provide alot of extra grip though due to the fact that I was able to run 225/45/16 tires on them.

those are what hocks look like on a lowered ride.

Yep, those are Hock's. That is David Gilbertson's car. They do look pretty bad ass on his car. Then again he does have suspension instead of stock ride height. Very clean E30.

hate to get off topic..... :? but is he the current owner or previous? That car was on E30sport for sale like half a year ago. And what happened to the previous owner, and if he is the current, why isn't he on R3V? thanks
