I laugh at people that drive around to find the cheapest gas station to save 10 cents a gallon.. They waste that in gas, not to mention their time, and time spent waiting in line (there are always long lines here at cheap gas stations).
Then they sit there idling, waiting for a pump to open. Lol.

I have had to rebuild the carbs on everything I own since the ethanol switch. White, chalky residue & gummy deposits are on every orifice and surface that the fuel touches. Rubber hoses & seals leak for no reason, releasing vapors into the air & dumping fuel on the ground. I have had to re-plumb my entire E30 fuel system with Ethanol-friendly hoses, due to 2 separate leaks.

There isn't anything much scarier than firing up your motorcycle & smelling gas during pre-flight checks, only to see it gushing out of a freshly-cracked fuel hose onto the hot header pipe located about 10 inches from your groin. It really is pointless.

Go to a farm supply store and see how many products they make so that you can run farm/garden equipment on E10 piss. :p

okay, so ethanol isnt perfect. Its still better than toxic MTBE, that is the only point of E10. Everything else is just talk, they needed to add an oxygenator, ethanol does that job very well, period.

I don't know how you guys are getting such shitty mileage, i get 24-26 on the hwy all day long.

Really though, it just reminds me of articles in old field and stream magazines where authors whine about not having lead in their gas anymore and how they have problems with their outboard motors...I guess we should go back to lead too, right? Because racecar?

                my car isn't stock.

Ethanol has been rammed down our throats by the corn industry. it's got nothing to do with the environment.

true that. in fact ethanol has been found to be more hazardous to the environment compared to gasoline in terms of refinement and exhausting.

that said, considering the current fuel standards, are we driving our e30's to death every time we start the car with ethanol laced gasoline?

To add my .02..we burn gasoline and coal to produce ethanol. So in reality e10 doesn't make gas cheaper, it just gets burned differently.
Yeah, as a 'green' fuel, it's a joke. But then so's a Prius- my old Honda CRX HF got
45 mpg in 1989, and you DIDN'T have 200 lbs of NiMH in it...

If I really gave a crap about the planet, I'd convert an E30 to electric.
No, it's not perfect, but considering most of my trips are under 5 miles,
it'd seriously cut warmup-cycle and idling pollution from the crappy old cars I drive.

Guess I don't give two hoots, though.

Corn's for eating, ethanol's for drinking, and we're gonna run out of cheap oil soon.

What to do, what to do...

Highly doubt it. Part of the reason your gas is so $$$ in your area is that laws require different blends for not just different counties but vary by area of the county in many cases. I would not be surprised if its illegal to sell Ethanol free gas in SoCal
