"way" as in "my coilovers are 36-way adjustable" no they are 1-way adjustable and they are also shitty if that's how they're advertised.
"gear" as in "I got 4.10 gears" cool did you put them somewhere or just throw them in your trunk? or "I ran out of gear" no you ran out of revs, that's not your gears' fault.
"horse" as in "300 horse v8" this engine must have a lot of land to have that many horses
"Stage (x)" annoys me. It's usually the retarded mk4 Jetta and WRX kids that I see throwing these completely arbitrary terms around.
"Yeah right now my Jetta 1.8T is only a stage 1 but I think I'll have it up to stage 2 by the end of the summer. My buddy has a sick stage 3 STi and his girlfriend has a stage 2 Beetle TDI."
Well I suppose certain companies advertise their products as such as a way to differentiate between the different models, but I also agree that the term is used incorrectly all the time by idiots.
I hate modded emtree, I hate modded cawrz, I hate jdm, I hate swag, I hate stanceyolokids, I hate bags (on cars), I hate stuff that is slowz, I hate tires.

You're aware Dinan - a BMW approved tuner - employs this terminology as well, yes?

i believe what he means is that the stages are tuner specific, and they dont really mean anything when refering to the car make or model.
"my car is running the stage 2 dinan tuning kit (or chip)" means alot more then
"my car is stage 2"
