a dumb question, but I don't know anyone with an e30 around.

How many keys should an 85 eta have, I have 1 for ign. and trunk, then another for the doors. it seems like it should have just 1

to my knowledge you should have only one key - the only exception being maybe a glove box key if that part has been replaced.

Just depends on the previous owner, if he or she lost a key, or had the locks replaced with a different key.

actually you should have several keys. there is a master key, a spare key, and a valet key. Most of us are missing one or more of them (I only have the master key).

bummer, po must have replaced some combo if 2 locks then. I should see if I can get a locksmith to change out the door cyllanders. I could just take them right off the door to him. thanks for the info fellas

I have the master and the valet.

I have all three meaning Master (opens all with light) Valet (does not open glove box or trunk) looks like my tii key and a non lighted master which has a rubber end with BMW logo.
