Does anyone's gas gauge actually work?

On the '84 I was terrified that the gas gauge didn't work because I didn't see gas light turn on for 2 1/2 years. Also never realized that the way the marks for 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 related to the speed at which the meter moved. That was a WONDERFUL face palm moment.
So far all 3 of my e30's have read pretty damn accurate. the 325e would occasionally decide to wave at me for a minute then go back to where it was. I thought that was pretty friendly.

Early cars prefacelift had smaller tanks with 2 pumps...including m3. Later 88 facelift cars had a larger tank with single pump."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj
