What would an updated e30 design look like?

Searched a bit. Didn't see a post for this topic...althought I can't imagine it hasn't been brought up along the way.

Anyone have any sketches or renders of what and 'updated' e30 might look like? Something BMW could sell today that was true to the original design, just modernized in a few spots, etc.

the 1 series is the e30.

There was some thread about how cars now have smaller windows, it definitely does.

apart from that is way better in every way.

I wish they would start producing new E30's exactly same body style with minor interior adjustments (cupholders) and new drivetrain and suspension. :(

1 series as an e30? Maybe by modern standards, but by classic simplicity, sorta a fail. Handling? Never drove one. Just read they aren't great. *except for the 1M.

Cup holders? They hadn't gotten that sorted out by the e39 either. Hopefully the newer ones are better as I have not been in a new one with a drink. Even on the e39, they are 1 stop from pure fail.

Also, Dodge Challenger? Maybe if we cut 1ft of the bottom of the car off... It looks WAY too tall. And no parts bin robbing from the Magnum.

The 128 is the closet car in BMWs current line to e30s , NA I-6 ,manual, well balanced , small , practical , not the best performer , but they do handle very well .

If you have never been in one why even give an opinion. You know nothing about the 1 series, and are just sharing speculation.
My girl friend has a 2010 135i. Its nothing like an e30. I guess if you wanted to compare it to an e30 its more like an e30 with an s50 swap. I have driven it in BMW events and it handles very well. The cup holders SUCK! The body lines and rear quarter windows are much more like a 2002.

Lol at the artists rendition. I test drove a 135i 6spd and size-wise its close but that thing pulls like no stock e30...128i may be close but its still no e30. Yea the handling was great but you dont feel the road. My main joy during the test drive was the power. If they made a modern e30 i would seriously consider buying it if they did it justice.
