    ¿Que?

I didn't read far enough back at what sparked the TDI/Prius debate but James C pretty much summed up everything I had to say.

Jesus man, glad you're alright but that would be grounds to start stabbing people for me. Your car was beautiful. Such a sad way to lose a car...from someone else's bad decision. Wish I had the cash, I'd swoop that S50.

10 under in the passing lane, not giving a damn about surrounding areas. That is my issue with them.

You want to drive a Prius? Fine.. but stay the hell out of the left lanes (right lanes in the UK) and GTFO of my way when I am doing the speed limit + 10%
What is just as bad are the ones that drive them aggressively, like the driver that killed my E30 and some dumb lady I saw yesterday. She was tailgating everyone and then would pass on the right side doing 90+ MPH in the slow lanes, weaving in and out for no damn good reason.. WTF

Not true... Prius MSRP $18,950, MPG 46cty/53hwy
Jetta TDI MSRP $22,775, MPG 40cty/42hwy

Also not true... 1984 Honda Civic MPG 32cty/38hwy, plus 100x the pollution

You may not like the Prius, but you don't get to make stuff up :)
you forgot to count the $7500 cost to the public, and in the real world the tdi gets better mileage, while not being totally lame and dull as dishwater to drive.

We've discussed the Prius BS enough haven't we? Consumer reports is leaning toward Honda Fit's and TDi as a better car.

Honda Civic HF back in the day got high 40 with ease but it was what 1900 pounds dry.

Pollution: hmm down the road with the non recyclable battery or just the measured out put from the exhaust pipe? Should we count the emissions made by the Coal Plant that makes the electricity?

Also, they are going to let me buy the car back for a few hundred bucks AND are going to pay me for my injuries etc.

I'll update with more clarity in a week or so when the compensation is paid out for the car and it's bought back. Then the partout will begin. Medical will begin later, I have to do physical therapy and go to a specialist for a while...

WOW. I just fought with insurance after someone backed into me. They tried totaling my car over a fender, hood and headlight. They said my car was only worth $1900 and that's was what they were going to offer me, with them keeping my car. I called my lawyer, he spit about 20 seconds worth of law at them, got em to go to $2000 and I keep the car/clean title. They didn't care about any of my mods, etc. I could've fought it for more, but i just wanna move on.

So, it sounds like you'll make out pretty well, if that's the case! Glad to hear that. Sorry about your car, though.

Not all Prius owners are hippies who carry a holier than thou demeanor. Heck, by your berating prii owners, you in turn are asserting dominance because you drive a twenty something year old car

We're not all horrible people. I am an enthusiast and can probably drive as well as many of you here. I don't care about the emissions or the costs of production of my car. I care that it saves me money at the pump which allows me to put money into something I care about more, my home.

My deepest condolences to the OP. I hope this experience doesn't have any lasting effects, emotionally and physically. From a Prius owner/ex e30 owner to you, get well soon.

Yes that's a lowered Prius. Yes I have undersized tires, they came with the wheels. Yes I have leds, hids, subwoofer and a home depot lip. "Enthusiasts" come in all kinds of cars folks. Don't be so quick to point the finger

You do realize that there are better "Eco Boxes" out there then the Prius. Hell you could have gotten a metro and been cooler in my opinion. Don't defend the prius, it's a shit car and everyone knows it. And I agree with Thizzelle, that Prius is 100% gay.

^ Very nice. And be sure to downshift every time you see a Prius now. :giggle:

Anyways man, I hope your neck feels better. One of my relatives had a similar accident and had some injuries from it. Be sure to get that stuff squared away asap and have evidence to back your injury especially if you go to court over it.
