Russia: More Bad Drivers, or More Front-Facing Driving Cameras?

it comes handy when your stuff inside of the car gets stolen, hit and run parked car, accident when there's no witness..it can also prevent getting fucked over by insurance frauds. I see/heard a lot of people in Asia/European countries getting it installed cheap at professional shops..

Lots of cameras sure, but almost all of those collisions were caused by reckless driving.

Horrible, especially considering there are a lot of these Russian compilation videos with all different footage.

I spent a fair amount of timne in Russia in the early 90's and the only way to describe their driving is..they dont give a f@@k. Many of the boulevards in Moscow were 8 lanes wide on each side with no lines and you'd be sitting at a light when some guy would drive around ALL the waiting cars and pull to the front at a 45.

At night you had to take your distributor cap off or they would steal your car...or your distributor cap. Wiper blades were another big theft item as there were NO auto parts stores. There was a black market of wooden shacks on the ring road that was the only place you could buy parts of any kind...mostly used.

Keep in mind that at that time a new car cost the equivalent of 10yrs pay and a take of gas cost a months salary...yet they all had cars with full tanks. Soldiers would park on the road side with tanker trucks painted with camouflage and sell you a tank of gas and when you went to a gas station it would be closed, but kids would offer you a 5gal gerry can for dollars.

Oh...and you could not make a left turn anywhere in Moscow...and I once saw a Mig on the roadside with a for sale sign it.

They weren't careless at all though. It was the Vodka.

The 1st time I flew Aeroflot they drove us out to the plane...they didnt know from loading ramps...it was -20 and the windows were foggy so I wiped and managed to see the gleaming white tail of an Ilyushin jet next to us. I wiped again then realized it was just the tail. The rest of the plane was an outline of ashes on the tarmac...and we had an 8 hr flight ahead of us....pass the vodka please

that video was absolutely horrible to watch due to the horrible crashes....
i think its a combo of terrible driving and extreme conditions.

Damn those were some of the worst crashes I have seen. Whats up with pedestrians running into the streets without looking???

same thing happens in korea.. people get fed up with stupid drivers so everyone who drives decent wants dash cam so that they don't get fucked over (at least after the crash). Therefore there are lots of companies who offer dash-cam products.
