    E30 s5x

Just for genereal knowledge, what kind of 0-60 times does a e30 with a s5x put down and how does it hold up to lets say a e46 m3?

    Flame suit on.

e46 M3 stands no chance because they all have rubber band tires and a flat brim capped bro piloting them.

even the earliest S50 swapped E30's were faster than an E46 M3. I'm thinking Stu here...

You won't make friends with post like that! Swapped E30 > E36

Hell, for the amount of money you'd spend supercharging an E36 M3, you could swap and supercharge/turbo your E30.

A fully done S50/S52 can keep up to a point. My S50 E30, which dynos at 215ish rwhp on a dyno that is generally known for reading low, is roughly 15-20mph slower down the main straight at Summit Point. (The E46 would redline 4th and spend some time in 5th for around 150MPH.)

A well driven E46 M3 is flat out going to be faster. With the right driver, a stock E46 with DRs can get into the high 12s. And it will consistently run low 13s with competent, but normal drivers.

Not true. Supercharging an E36 M3 with a good kit and good parts (gauges, clutch, tune, 3" exhaust etc) costs about $4-6k. S50 swap on an E30 costs $4-6k at least and then another $4-6k on top of that for boost.

E36 M3 is also a much more stable platform for boost and easier to fit wide tires on.

Not to mention the e36 m3 has way better rear suspension.

Not true. It would even out in the end, he already has the e30, not the e36.

                        E30
                        S5x Swap: $4,000
                        Boost: $5,000

                        Total: $9k-$10k

                        E36
+$3-$4,000 for selling his current e30
                        $6-$9,000 for an e36 M3
                        Supercharger/Turbo: $5,000

Taking the median price for a decent E36 M3 $7,500+$5,000 for boost.
Total minus the sale of the e30 $9k-$10k

the e30 is not a 0-60 car. it is not a top speed car. it is a 20-100 car, and with an s5x, it will definitely pace an e46 m3 in that category.

besides, any faster than that on a public road and you should (and actually might) DIAF.
