    Anyone think this is a real Alpina?

    I went to look at it,and it is def. a Euro gray market import,but I highly doubt it is a real Alpina B6 2.8 or was one. It seems like someone went a little crazy with the Alpina stickers and badges. The car seems to run ok,but I am very suspect of that swap in such a "rare" car. Supposedly only 249 E30 B6s were made from what I gather. The price is outrageous,but the car does run. I might go back and drive it just for the hell of it.

    E46 M3 front bumper and engine. I highly doubt its a real alpina. Shame if it is...

      I'm going to go ahead and say no it's not a real Alpina car. It does appear to be a real S54 car though hence the price.

                    Googling the VIN has some information. For example:

                    Alpina register

                    So it is not just cluster and stickers.

                    I have no idea if it is real or not but you fellas need to be more discerning before calling it 'bullshit'. It may cut out 50% of the extraneous threads on R3V. It was a simple google search that took me less than a minute.

                      That's a damn shame someone should swap an M20 in there.

                      I remember this car now. It has had a rough life lost some of the original parts then someone made it look pretty original...Now it turned into this?
