If it is real Alpina. The vin # in the engine bay should have a x a cross the vin #. The new vin # will be on top of the passenger strut tower. It should have a Alpina vin tag behind the passenger head lights. Bimmerworld swap out the Alpina m30 2.8 for a s54. I use to have A 1984 B6 2.8 e30 back in the day.

Alpina NOT A CHANCE, sticker bombed like a mofo. Just a s54 swap, does not cost 30k.Last edited by F34R; 09-27-2012, 12:21 PM.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

I mean, I did say it was just "a bit" bastardized :) In any case I'm definitely envious of that S54 in there. I can't wait to move up to one.IG: deniso_nsi Leave me feedback here

:cough: :cough:
Wasn't THAT bad, now it is a loss. If it was, in fact, a true Alpina, and not a clone, it's sad. However, I have always believed there was something fishy about it. No doubt it looks worse than in the thread above. And who cares about the s54 when it actually had the correct m30 in it. There's a long story about this car. I don't feel like telling it.
Yours truly,
Rich

I have no idea if it is real or not but you fellas need to be more discerning before calling it 'bullshit'. It may cut out 50% of the extraneous threads on R3V. It was a simple google search that took me less than a minute.
that is an original alpina vin tag for sure. according to the pic, it is b6 2.8 number 35. you can see the placement of the tag in the pic below. it is on the core support in front of the washer bottle. however, any retard could have purchased that tag on ebay and just riveted it on the car. i see these for sale on ebay.de all the time. they could have purchased a tittle with that tag as well. in states such as new hampshire that have very liberal rules of issuing missing titles, one could likely been reissued simply with the vin tag pictured above. so, just because it has that tag and a matching tittle does NOT make the car real. raul knows what he is talking about below:

even if it is real, this car is so bastardized, i can't imagine anyone wanting it this way. it looks like a charactacature of a e30 model kit built by a 12 year old junior high schooler. yes the s54 and the dash cluster are cool, but the rest of the car is ghey as fuck!!! a reiger lip/front bumper? seriously!!!???!???!?!?!?! this car flew out some homo's ass.Last edited by flyboyx; 09-27-2012, 07:23 AM.sigpic

in fact, just to carry it a step further, here is a pic of a few parts from my alpina collection:
if you peruse down a bit, you can see that i have a blank vin tag and a blank plaque in my possession. they are not repros. they are the real deal i assure you. where did i get them? ebay.
even if the car in question is real, it is shit.Last edited by flyboyx; 09-27-2012, 11:29 AM.sigpic

better than 90% chance it's fake. basically, it looks like an ebay parts special with a nice motor swap. nobody with a real alpina would cover it in that many stickers, unless they had no idea what it was.
for $30k, no way in hell. other than the motor swap it's got a bunch of stickers and a gutted interior plus some ebay junk. an S54 doesn't gost $25k to swap into an e30 either.
and like it was said, even if it was real it's basically destroyed now anyway.

BTW I thought e30m3s54turbo's post was one of the few useful posts in the thread.
Your blank Alpina VIN plate, what plans do you have for it? Do you plan building a 'fake' :cough: :cough: fraud? j/k

I agree with what you say, however, it could have been lots of things. Without evidence it's just guessing. It is all easy to just call it a fake without supporting it with a bit of reasoned argument. All I did was google the VIN and provide a bit more information. After all if it falls over on the VIN, it would not stand a hope.

Maybe others should have before guessing :)
99%, it's fake. and for $30k? talk about a fraud.

OK. Based on the original post and you staring at e30s, what evidence is it that it 99% (up from your earlier 'guess' of 90%) chance of being a fake. Why is it fake when it could easily be, say, a genuine B6 which was stripped of it Alpina bits by a previous owner or stolen recovered or whatever? just asking.
Also I make no comment on the value or aesthetics. It seems way overpriced to me even if it was genuine. If it is a fake, I'd suggest the fraud would be the misrepresentation of the ID of the car, with a purported VIN.sigpic
