This is what LA does to skid plates

In all honesty this thing did last for about a month taking some real hard hits. One was hard enough to make my rear view mirror come off. Needless to say my buddy that was driving has constant supervision now. The last real jolt was enough to push the plate up into my oil pan and make a nice little dent.

I may be too low for an m42.

Pics of how low your car is?
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I don't feel like its too low but the m42 oil pan really sticks down there. The front jack point is 4.5" or 4" off the ground last I checked.

I just put that on there like 30 seconds ago.

This one shows it a bit better.

Dang. My buddy's old 318is was a little higher than my car and his pan still sat lower than mine. I'm a firm believer in the "peerless plate." Mine has taken a couple serious hits and it barely looks scraped.

Luckily, your pan didn't crack. But I'd invest in something heavy duty, for sure.

Slow down maybe? Just because you have a skid-plate does not mean rally the fuck out of it.

I think you just suck at driving. Everywhere has shitty roads.

                            This.

I've driven around Baltimore city PLENTY of times, caught air even and my skidplate doesn't even have a dent.

You need higher spring rates, better shocks/struts, stop driving like its a f1 car in the middle of a jungle, and better luck next time.
