Exactly what I'm using now. Only because I can no longer find my long-time favorite Valvoline Racing. They still make it, but I just can't find it anywhere. Although now that I check Valvoline's website it says they carry it at Napa...
I haven't touched Mobil 1 since my dad tried it once in his Taurus SHO several years ago. Immediately after the change the engine was noticably noisier. He changed the oil again after just a couple of hundred miles and used Valvoline Racing and it was nice and quiet again.

Cold temperatures make oil thicker so you want to use slightly thinner oils to compensate. Heavier (higher number) oil that's perfect in Death Valley summers would have the consistency of tar in an Alaskan winter, and the lighter oil that works well in the Alaskan winter would be ultra-thin and be on the verge of breaking down in Death Valley summers... However, I have realized that I cannot tell any benefits running this, as opposed to Castrol GTX which was previously in the car.
I'm thinking about going back to Castrol, unless there are some long-term benefits to running Mobil 1 synthetic (which I doubt).
