    what if someone took a block of aluminum or whatever and frabcricated a 24 valve m20 cylinder head how much power would that gain and how much work would that involve. i think it would kick ass

    especially if you made it a 3.0-3.2 liter stroker with ITB's and nice exhuast system how much power would be expected

    they already make a 24v M20.. it's called the M50. ;)

    also, a 24v M20 head does exist, but it costs more than your car.

      wow, i think that idea is fucking retarded.

      it's called z3 alum block and m50 (or even better S50) head that is ALREADY 24V, holy shit christ!! who'd a thought!?!


      custom design and made a 3.2L stroker M20?!? with ITBs?!??! holy shit! what, that would make like 210hp!?!?!!!113eleven.

      or, just buy and swap in a euro S50B32

          Go to your nearest machine shop and ask whoever is in charge approximately what it would cost to design and then machine a completely custom cylinder head from solid aluminum. Even if you based it heavily on the M50 head so you could use all of its parts, it would be ridiculously expensive to create a complete head.

          In the world of completely custom engine parts, where people spend $25K making one-off intake manifolds, an entire cylinder head would probably be in that same, absurd ballpark.

              lies. dropping it in is the easy part (at least for in the e36)



              wiring it up and having it run is the impossible aspect [insert some sort of smilie here]
