Racing Dynamics did produce a very limited run of 24v m20 heads. They claimed 100bhp/litre.
I've never seen a photograph of one installed on an actual engine in a bay.

Neither have a price listed. I don't know what they did debut at, but I know it was high enough that with the M3 being released at the same time... no one purchased them.
Even if you managed to source one of these heads, or purchase the casting rights from RD... you would still have to figure out intake/exhaust (which clearly the m20 parts wont work) then figure out all the internals and some sort of valve cover.
I imagine however that alot of the m50 parts could be bastardized to work.
