I had to learn how to pretty quick when I bought my Subaru Justy a couple years ago, the 2nd gear sychro was gone long before I got the car. Took some practice, but was pretty fun once I got it down.

With the stock throw in my car I always double clutch for no apparent fucking reason. Either it's because my dad tought me to do so or it helps time the shifts because the throw. I would think that it just wears the moving parts so dont do it.
