I agree that uneven tint is funny looking but just some light even tint hardly makes the car look gangster. I think you people are thinking that everyone must get the 5% tint.

That is 35%; I dont get harassed by cops and I can see out the back just fine at night.

Get some good laminar film. The best actually use metal flakes in the plastic to tint them but dont get those if you rely on a radar detector. Also find a big pro shop like who the dealer uses. The place that did mine had a program for my car so it cut the tint to fit the windows exactly.
You don't want no Hartge, some fellow in the NC Triad now has it.

Well I cant find an error and its a lot tighter fit with cleaner curves than the guy who was recommended by everyone locally who does it by hand. Then again, the place that did it mechanically was the dealers shop and it wasnt cheap either.

I am very happy with my tint but I also liked the look of the car without it. As said earlier in the thread, it just depends on the car. I have 15% all around [except the windshield of course].

No, that is not a good picture

Tint saved me a lot of clean-up time when the assholes that broke into my car kicked the window in. Probablly 85% of the glass stayed together (it was sitting in my passenger seat) and the rest went everywhere. No tint would have made clean up a bitch and a half.

I think any car without tinted windows looks bad but that's just me. My 3 rear windows have limo tint and the front two have 'arizona legal'. Cost $180 for a shop to strip off all the tint (they were able to save the defroster, like I need it in AZ) and put it in what I just described. I like the look and it makes it pretty hard to see what I have inside my car.

And because you have a baby on the way I would definitely tint your windows.

            Edit:
I'll get some photos of my car with the tint tonight since I dont have any recent pics.

I had 35%, nice and cool, very light too light for my tastes.

Now I have 5% all around, 35% in the front (yes the front windshield), straight up gangsta.
Anyone who can't see out of their car at night must be blind, because I'm almost positive I have the darkest car here, and I have no problems seeing at night.

On street that are lit well, yes, it's not TOO bad, but with dim lights or no lights at all, I can't see anything, especially when turning. I always have to lean up to see out my windshield if there are any pedestrians walking. You must have owl-eyes.

i paid somewhere around $130 to have my tint removed by a pro. it was a pro job from probably '88 but it had aged and turned purple. i about started in on it myself but i feared i'd make a huge mess. my defroster lines still work.

tint will not be going back in

75% of the roads here don't have streetlights.

Yeah, I must have owl eyes, plus I'm a l33t ninja who can detect pedestrians with my eyes closed.

You know what I just realized? I don't ever see pedestrians at night (maybe they're smart enough to not walk around in the pitch black), unless I'm in an extremely crowded area, like cruising through town.

EDIT: Although I must say, with a tinted front windshield, while night doesn't phase me, hard rain at night is EXTREMELY hard to see through. I usually don't drive in heavy rain anyway though, so it doesn't bother me too much.

I doubt you're losing that much visibility with something like 35-40% tint.
