It'd be cool to have one so the length below the ball is adjustable to adjust the throw, as well as the length above the ball to adjust the height. So you could have a shifter that's fully adjustable in both ways.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

What is the benefit to an adjustable shifter? I can't see the need to adjust the throw on the fly...

There is such a thing. It is called a S52. And if you prefer the 2.5lt guess what its called. Thats right an M52.

Non the less a M20 24v would be nice to brag about.

Is that 24v head on an E motor?

And an affordable ITB setup...or at least just the manifolds.

Can an oil distribution block be made to be fitted into the side of the block?
So you can put oil pressure senders, oil temp senders, oil feed(turbos) hole, and such? Maybe a plug too in case you don't need more than 2.
Either in the filter block on the hollow bolt, or screwed into the stock oil pressure sender.

Kind of like this, but with more ports to put senders in:

make this for a lot cheaper, like the 100 dollar territory.

^that would be nice. I could solve some of my shifter issues with my m50 g260 setup.

I think I could do that without supplying a knob and using a steel base plate.

Make an oil filter relocating kit. The stock location sucks. But as everyone was saying... a 24v m20 would be cool.

Be realistic kids, a 24v M20 head isn't going to happen, and the RD head is not just a bolt on get 100hp per liter deal. Kind of seems like some of you guys are under that impression.

the stupid 24v M20 head comes up all the time.

Sure, it might be $2500 for just the head casting (yeah right, more like $5k given you might get 3 people to buy one). But then you have to add another $1k in valves (plus $1500 for lifters, springs, etc; remember everything is x24 instead of x12). $2k for custom cams made for your custom head. $1500 to convert to a chain. $1500 for an intake manifold/$2500 for ITBs with a proper plenum. $1000 for proper headers. $2500+ on tuning (you'd better not try to run this on Motronic 1.3). that doesn't even address that you'd probably blow $2500 on stroking and boring the bottom end.

Yeah, you can do an S54 swap for less than that, and not have custom one off parts that cost thousands to replace. oh, and it would probably end up with similar specific output to an S52 with bolt ons.

it's never going to happen. there's a reason it was never produced.

                              BMW already made a 24v M20 - it's called an M50.

That would be cool. I was planning on getting the delrin jaffster knob that some guy on here makes soon anyways.
