Fuck. Sorry man. That has got to be seriously depressing.
I just saw a picture on Jalopnik of an old Mercedes SL Gullwing that's halfway underwater/sludge. Heart-wrenching, to say the least.Leave a comment:

If you pulled the entire car apart and dried EVERYTHING, it would be fine. But that is an astronomical amount of work.Leave a comment:

Might be fine... Leave the battery disconnected for awhile and let it dry. Prob a new ecu maybe an oil change if it was that high and got into the engine... Remove spark plugs and blow out the cylinders. Should be fine Imo. Check for blown fuses as well.

I accidentally left the passenger windows cracked open on my vert during a storm and had to deal with a pool of water in the rear footwell. The mold smell was unbearable. Had to use a fan, cleaner and baking soda for days to get rid of the residual moisture in the foam of the carpet. All this is from leaving the window cracked open. I can just imagine having the floorboards submerged in water.Leave a comment:

Floods really suck for cars. An e30 in my eyes would fare better since it's less electrically complicated, but it would definitely be hard to salvage. Maybe if you clean out everything you can and let it dry for a few days it may not be too badly damaged (although that seems wishful). How bad is the visible damage to interior pieces and such?Leave a comment:

Slow build but i have been taking pictures to start one. I was hoping to start in Feb. My neighbors son bought an e46 with my car in mind. He is 17. If it was not for the curb and weight off the front engine his car would have floated away.

When i show you i need you to post a pic of that tear drop thats going to role down your face. No electric. I am on my phone. I will post pics hopefully tomorrow from cousins house. The cost effect vs the blood sweat tears i put into this car is making the decision hard.
Well if it was me I would see it as the oppertunity to start a ground up rebuild. But that is me. Dose suck non the less.Leave a comment:

Condolences. You never did a build thread, but I recall you putting a lot of work and nice parts into that vert. Sad that the first glimpse we'll get will be in post-flooded state.Leave a comment:
