Shitty CA DMV registration back fees

    So its at $725....cool

    The lady was younger and didn't seem that experienced so I think she was a little afraid to slash fees, but she gave me a form for the previous owner to fill out called a statement of facts. If he states that it wasn't driven and broken down, then it could give them a reason to lower the fees. I'm going to get that done and try again. If it doesn't work I'll try a different DMV/AAA/Clerk

        If you have a AAA membership go to them when you register it. They're more likely to help.
        There are penalties involved when you register the car late. It's in the paper they mail to you when you register.

        Anyways, i just did this recently when the previous owner misled me about the reg of the car. i wrote a letter to DMV Sacramento as per the advice of the DMV clerk. Amnesty granted and they lowered the fees from $700 to $495. But every situation is different.

          Its a joke. Pisses me off that someone who hasn't even owned the car has to take car of the registration.

          I'm hoping I can at least make a little dent in the fees !
