I was sooo close recently to selling mine to help pay down my mortgage note to refi. I was offered a pretty good chunk ~over 7k, but after thinking about it I have put so much blood sweat and tears into it that even if I was offered 12k for it, I wouldnt sell it.
The right e30 is like a fine wine, it gets better with age. If you ever need cash, just finance the car and pull some cash out of it. Solves your cash problem and lets you keep the car.
Any regrets selling your E30?

I've seen you over there on ft86club. I'm looking to get a BRZ as a DD and e30 as a weekend car that I can keep forever. If you're on FT86club.com, you'll see quite a few people sold their E46/E92 M3's and other late model BMW's to get an FR-S or BRZ. So the general consensus seems to be that people are a lot happier with the smaller, more nimble cars. Whether that means to keep your E30 or get a BRZ is up to you, but I'd skip the piggy 335d and 135i. My last car was an Audi S4 that I leased while I worked for Audi. The power and comfort was fun for a while but when the BRZ came out I was so over that Audi!Leave a comment:

That link is dead you tard, and no an E46 M3 is not worth getting rid of an E30 for. It does make a nice daily though.Leave a comment:

Keep the car.
I am in the same boat as Wh33lhop. I have a 2002 330ci that I daily and it is very good for what it is.
I have contemplated selling the e30 many times, mostly because it is always sitting in various states of non functionality, mostly due to me messing with it in the first place.
1 weekend with the e30 is all I need to placate any straying thoughts, at least for a few months. Don't think I'll ever sell it, not like I'd get much out of it. Maybe 20 cents on the dollar.Leave a comment:

For the right price i would sell just about anything. "everything has a history, and everything has a price." I love my cars, i wouldn't even let my friends decorate mine for a my wedding. however now it's soon to be for sale. would i sell a mint mtech1 for a shitty ass new car. Hell no! if my wife has kids, she knows i will not sell one of my cars for a "family car" if she wants a car that's kid friendly she can be the one to down grade.Leave a comment:

We think alike. I was thinking of holding out for the BRZ STI next year and keeping my MR2 for the track.I regretted selling my '89 325i, so I just bought a '91 318is. I love how simple but effective the E30 is; I won't even consider a newer BMW. I was originally thinking of keeping it til the spring then selling it again when I get a Subaru BRZ, but now I'm thinking of keeping it as a daily and using the BRZ sparingly. It'll be my first new car and rather than abuse it with daily driving I think I'll pamper it (call me crazy). And I have no idea what to do with my MR2... maybe make it a track car.Leave a comment:

I take pleasure in the build. My swap car is a stupid fun car, but I no longer drive it the way it should be driven. It's a problem and I am selling it to help fund my 2002 restoration. And a porsche. I'll be damned if I don't build a nice short wheel base 911.Leave a comment:

I regretted selling my 318iS a week later, and went a year driving a brand new, trouble-free car before realizing I need an e30 again. Luckily I'll be at a point now where the e30 isn't the car I rely on every day (not that it couldn't do that job) or something I need to sell to get my next car. The e30 is the closest damned thing to a perfect car for me, so I can't imagine selling it when I get one again. Ever.Leave a comment:

I've contemplated unloading my E30. Right now its a project that's been stalled for months. Nearly a year ago I spun a rod bearing. Promptly parked it for several months at my dad's place before towing it to a friends house where repair work has been moving at a snails' pace. The delays are due to having bought a house in March and being tied up with plenty of home improvement stuff. Because of this, I'm torn between fixing & selling or selling as-is. A lack of time and money are the main reasons for the current state of my E30.
If I did unload the E30 I know I would have some regret with the decision. I've had 3 E30s over the course of 11 years....love them to bits but my life priorities are changing. When house things settle down and finances allow, the ideal solution would be to find a solid E30 with properly done and BAR'd M/S5x swap. I've wanted one for a long time......just too involved for me to attempt on my own.
