Speaking of classes - anyone in the WI/IL/MN area that wants to learn what ice/snow is like this winter:

Despite all of the dick measuring going on I found the OP to be beneficial. I was unaware that classes were available at what sounds like a very reasonable price.Leave a comment:

ah Christ, there's geniussess everywhere....i have a friend that pulls the abs, traction control, and stability control fuses/relays on every car he owns,
heee.
So, what's the verdict? Whose willie's biggest????

Yeah, I've heard that as well over the years....but it must be the older ones. I've found on my 09 that the ABS is far less intrusive than any other ABS car I've owned (same with the TCS). I have no problem doing emergency stops in the snow with minimal ABS activation.Leave a comment:

So BMW/Bosch got it right in the 80s, and other companies STILL haven't figured it out? WTF.
Then again I repeatedly watch people try to stop in big 3 vehicles in corners, and they always manage to lock and slide - or just fail to stop. Always watching my mirror, trying to leave an escape route if I think they're gonna hit me.
Turner has a retrofitable 4 channel motorsport abs system, built on a re-programmed BMW system - that must be tits. I hear ya - my e30 works until it's beached - before my new exhaust you could see where it was dragging the pipes through the snow.Leave a comment:

The last 4 years I've moved the M3 from A to B in snow safely and the rear tires on that can brake loose even on idle when I try to let it slowly move.. alot easier once you have it going as long as there's no dickwad in the way..
yah it's the driver's fault every time you drive off the road or w/e in snow obv. ,'cause you could've always had gone slower ... but shit happens yo!Leave a comment:

I lived in Big Bear for 4 years by Bear Mountain and drove up and down the hill 6 days a week to SGV to work. Helps when you have a 2000 land rover discoII. Rain, fog, ice, snow, rock slides, white out's. I think 6 times in 4 years i couldnt make it down, roads were closed due to heavy drifts.Leave a comment:

I lived near Idyllwild (5000-6000 ft elevation) for 12 years, it snows so much up there that you sometimes have to wait for neighbors with a snowplow to clear the road for you. :p
I learned to drive in one of these bad-boys:

My post was said in jest. Learn to not take what people say so seriously. You'll enjoy life a lot more.Congratulations... you managed to be extremely douchey in the beginning of the post, but you transitioned beautifully to being only a standard amount of douche. You're not special because it snows a little bit near where you live. A lot of people get snow.
Also, some people are not afraid to venture away from their comfort zone. I don't know you, but if I had to guess, I'd say right now you live within 10-15 miles of where you grew up. You see, some people aren't afraid to leave the nest... and sometimes that results in a person maybe living in SF when they are from somewhere else.
Sorry, the implications in your post were really annoying. Carry on.Leave a comment:

Omg lol, i love driving in the snow. i lost grip in a turn past the police station at like 5 am. so i stepped on the gas and made the KKKLEANEST drift i have ever done right past a cop that was posted at the station.
He briskly pulled me over
I got away because i argued that I have a RWD car with no traction control, and bald summer tires.
Im gonna do it again this year : PLeave a comment:

BMW is my rallycar, but subie is my daily. I can drive RWD in the snow fine (did it for years), but AWD and Dunlop Wintersports makes it child's play :)
this isn't even close to being stuck :)

Wow you Sr. are a massive cock. Just my .02Fixed
I drove my brother's vert home when he took it to church with almost bald summer tires. Had an ice storm and he would not drive it. I turned a 25min trip into an hour, but made it safely.
You spun out on a flat road with 50% remaining on ALL seasons in .5" of snow. The e30 is not to blame.
you mad bro? yes you are...erase it before some sees!
Not flat. Just the angle of the picture. Up hill. Not strait ether. Right hand sweep.
Maybe I don't know how to drive in snow. Again I was not trying to brag about my snow driving skill. Just trying to say I was happy for my car and passengers and the experience I got at my CCC class.
Good thing you are so fucking great and are here to put queefs like me in my place. Keep it up bro. Your the shit for sure.Leave a comment:
