The job can be done without removing the pan.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I also found a set up just-oversize drain pulgs for sale that I've used, since on of the POs overtorqued it. I'll see if I maybe have ohe left (had to buy them in packs of 5). It's worked a treat!

I have and it works great. Although I would not do it with the pan installed as it creates a lot of metal shavings.

I need to do a few of mine, leaks a tad out the back where one of them is stripped. PO also stripped a few of the valve cover bolts too. Ugh.

It definitely does, just have someone with a shop vac held up to it. Also, when you're done run some clean oil through it to pick some extras up. I did it with the pan still on the car and it went in slightly crooked, unfortunately, so I just RTV'd the shit out of a fumoto valve and slapped it on there.

If you want to buy it off me after I buy and use 1 insert, let me know, then you can sell it to someone else, and so on.

Edit: Just purchased, let me know :)

That is easy to deal with. Pack the flutes of the drill with grease, drill some, then clean and repack the drill. Do the same thing with the tap. The grease traps the swarf and keeps it out of the pan.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
