    R3v "Birthday"/Pre-e30 cars

So I was just casually editing my signature like a bawuce when I stumbled upon my R3v join date. Mine was 12/7/11, which was a little shy of a week ago. I kinda missed it, cause I didn't really do anything to commemorate it (I probably wouldn't have done anything regardless though lol) but it got me thinking...

What were you all crazy nuts doing before r3v and e30s? What have you guys accomplished in the last 2, 3, 4, even 5 years while owning an e30, or just messing around with everyone on r3v?

I, for starters, was peddling around in some gawsh-awful Mitsubishi Eclipse, browsing Club3G, working a dead end job at a start-up engineering firm that ended up failing. Then I got an e30 and joined r3v cause, like we all know, e30s are the shiz. Now, a year later and after selling my first e30, I'm still working a dead end job at Urban Outfitters, but I passed my EMT registry exam and got my EMS license; Looking for a local job now, but I'm excited to finally be doing something with my life. Oh, and the fact I finally have an IS is sweet. Life's Good

Before r3v I was on e30tech, back in 2005 when I got my 1st e30. R3v back then was the wild west of e30 forums and I was afraid to come here as an 18 year old and get a tongue lashing from blunt. Not the good kind.

When I joined R3v it was so I could help a friend with a 24v swap. I was still driving around a 240z and a 280z. I ended up with an e30 about 6 months later.

Edit: Joined before Slammin and have ~6800 less posts. Haha

My old e24 fueled my desire to purchase an e30. I was previously an aircooled vw guy, but I bought a tired 633csi with summer job money while I was still in school to have a fun car to drive before I could finish the superbeetle I had sitting at my parent's place for years.

Sold the 6 once I graduated to fund the beetle, and once I got it drivable I realized I felt safer at speed in my Jeep Cherokee and that I really missed that BMW feel. Didn't help that in the past decade, the acvw aftermarket has doubled in price for half the quality of parts.

Bought my e30 after probably a month of searching, sold the beetle shortly thereafter for a small profit.

I was in a maxima, lol. First car. Actually handled quite well with the subframe connectors, all the bracing, and the coilovers/Konis I had on it. I still kinda miss that car to be honest. Interior was roomier than my E46s and it was 300lbs lighter.

Get ready for pics of a car nobody cares about but I still have a soft spot for.

totalled :( understeer brought about its demise, but yeah totally my fault.

sold the mods (coilovers, shifter, sway bars, wheels, retrofitted lights) and bought whee30 with the money.

                      paint sucks

I was an American muscle car guy before my oldest son turned me onto BMW's. He bought the first one in our family. 10 years later I own too many... have made a business out of it and never work a day at it because its what I love

I was into dodges before I got my E30. Had a 2000 Dakota I bought new and sold in 2010 to get the car. I had a bunch of turbo k-cars in there too. Sometimes I miss my Daytona.
