Reviews, video samples and overview of the various G1W dash cams. G1Ws are widely believed to be the best low-cost dash cams, but which model should you get?

It's not really a bad idea. I've had multiple people turn from the inner (left) turn lane (when there's two) onto the right lane of the cross street, which just so happened to be exactly where I was. I'm pretty sure neither of them even realized what they did. On one of the occasions I had to run over the curb to avoid getting hit. No damage to the car I was in, but in my e30 I'd be out two BBS lips/barrels, IS lip, and probably a damaged front valence and cross brace.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Hi, I have a Lukas LK-7900 ACE . The only down side is it has GPS and the speed is displayed on the video. After the novelty wore off, it sits between the mirror and the windshield and does it's job. Each week I format the CD card and I'm ready for something I hope never happens.
I have a Blackvue DR500GW-HD wired into my daily, works pretty well I guess. Turns on and off with the car and writes over itself when it's full - pretty much maintenance free to the point where you forget its even there.
I can also connect to it wirelessly through my phone and play back video or upload directly if I want which is pretty neat.

Interesting! I'm going to look into one of these myself.
