I ran around with a stripped out interior for ages in my old GTI. Seemed cool at the time, in retrospect it just made me look trashy.

However, 7 years later I have the same thing going in my temporary winter beater 318is. But I have an excuse this time, it's just waiting on warmer weather for a roll cage!

I was backing the junked out family station wagon off ramps and went too fast and pitched it left and hit a trash can, then right and hit a pole putting a big dent in the door. I think I was 13 at the time. Don't think I'd driven more than a few times.

Friend let me drive her moms truck in a parking lot. When I was done I put on the parking brake but left it running in gear. (because its called a parking brake hurr durr) Didn't roll away but still stupid. We treated that truck poorly, we were all driving illegally by 14-15 and everything we got our hands on was turned into a lawn job machine. That or gravel parking lot media redistributor.

I did too many burnouts in the econoline, along with pinning the throttle until my friends got scared. The numbers stop at 85mph but the van kept pulling. Reverse burnouts broke mirrors in the dually with flying rocks, and a mall parking lot lawn job badly hurt the cam/valves in a ford ranger.

Tried to do a little rallying in the ranger and almost looped it. That was after going to the local muddy hill with some friends who stuffed their jeep into a fence down a hill. It wouldn't start so I popped the radiator cap thinking the engine was seized because the crash looked like it took out the radiator and I got a face full of boiling coolant.

Talked my mom into driving the ranger in 4hi on the street. Lasted about 4 seconds when we tried to make a turn and everything bound up. Luckily no damage.

I hit jumps the a dually, and a cavalier, lots of tray sliding and j turns in said cavalier. Got caught by the cops fooling around in that ex's shitbox cavalier. She later rolled it in some manic fit of rage / passion.

The suburban's sending unit fell off so I cut a jagged hole in the back over the gas tank with pneumatic shears and fixed it through that. The transfer case was acting up, along with my ignorance, and I shifted it into 4hi while rolling, with a grind and a clunk. Didn't break anything. I was mudding a little bit a while later and it wouldn't stay in 4hi, probably unrelated since it was acting up since day one, and I rarely used 4 wheel drive anyway.

Got pissed at the other ex and did a few redline clutch dump burn outs......... Civic, Matrix, and BMW. I'm sorry, you poor cars. That same ex asked for my help buying cars and she didn't really listen to what I had to say. The first time she bought a manual (she couldn't drive stick) ricer civic with huge wing, flashy wheels, crap suspension (had a nice muffler at least) and the guy wouldn't let me test drive it. It was always getting suspension repairs. The second was another civic that wasn't riced out, but the shady dealer was a sleaze ball. Talked about all this work that was done, but took it to an independant and found the air filter crumpled up like it had sucked down a few gallons of muddy water. She still bought it. Went through an engine and the second one would always throw a code so she just sold it like that.

I drove the matrix through a field and dented the gas tank pretty well, used a baseball bat to mostly fix it. Was playing with fireworks and set a small smoldering fire in that car that I didn't notice for a few hours. The car was full of wretched plastic smoke but luckily nothing was damaged, just a raincoat. I didn't check the oil in the gas tank car and toasted the engine. It was way down on power after it started ticking so you had to pretty much gun it everywhere.

Every car or truck I've driven into San Francisco I take down lombard street. The dually is the biggest so far. I have a faint memory of taking the 14' box truck down it, but I can't be sure.

I keep falling for the banana in the tail pipe.

I can't believe I did all this, I was a shitheaded little kid. Luckily I stay away from tasteless mods. That's just the worst.

lol. how are you still alive?

some of those full sized vans are fast. We "borrowed" my friend's step dad's Ford van of some sort, that thing hauled ass up to about 125, in the rain. That was probably the scariest ride I've ever been in.

Tasteless mods: In high school I had an 83 S10 4x4. It was blue on blue. I painted the dome light and foot well lights blue... Also had a neon blue license plate frame on it too. Then after high school I had a 67 Coronet Deluxe. Had a 360 with a six pack and a 67 Super Stock hood scoop. I took out the back seat and put SS/DA on the windows and also HEMI on the sides of the scoop. Yeah I wasn't being a poser lol Bad thing is I had a Corvette guy look under my hood while at a local cruise and say "so that's what a HEMI looks like"

I knew a guy like that growing up. He would have been my older brothers' ages and Christ he was fvckin crazy! everyone said so. He and his older brother would often re-enact the silly shit you'd see on tv and movies in the 70's and 80's (think Dukes of Hazzard, or Evil Knievel). Obviously they never wore any protective equipment/used any precautions and would laugh about it...laughing was the only cure and reason to do something silly.

I remember this one time (back when they used to make 3 wheelers), we were visting their family one Christmas and he had an idea to build a ramp to jump with it, and to land softly into a huge snow bank beside their house. Of course I was about 7 or so and just tagging along with my older brother so I said "sure, I'd like to go too".
The jump went fine, everyone landed softly into the snow bank except me who had the three wheeler pinning my leg underneath it. Luckily nothing broke

He ended up dying at about 19ish in a car accident. He (with two of his buddies) were racing down a dirt road in the wee hours of that warm spring night near his farm. They were going after some guy who was trash talkin him for dating an aboriginal chic (he and his family were white).

Anyway, the truck ahead made the turn but in the cloud of dust behind him, Mark couldn't see the road clearly (didn't help that he had been drinking but in those days on the prairies, who didn't drink and drive on a Friday night?).

His truck ended up going off road and rolling, ejecting all three passengers from the Silverado (nobody was wearing their seat belts). As a result the two passengers made it out alive, but the trucks overturned cab crushed Mark to death. The passengers ran to get help from a nearby neighbor, but when the neighbors saw they were aboriginal and had been drinking they refused them any help...this was before cell phones.

I still think about that guy from time to time and how his death affected my older bro (who also died recently).

Reminiscing: Stupid Things you did to/with your Car when You were Young

I have had a few run ins with fireworks, toys and fire... Worst was the loft above the garage and shop. Ugh.

I had a run in with a white civic full of douchebags, they came rolling up and for no reason started talking shit so I fucked around and cut them off and sped up and slowed down etc until they threw a beer can at the truck, missing the rear window and putting a dent right at the roof line. Chased them down and 4 big dudes got out so I screamed "waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles!!" at them and drove away like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.

Another time with cavalier ex, she was driving, taking a freeway entrance she gets right into the fast lane at about 50, cutting off a bro in a lifted expedition. Well he gets pissed and speeds around and tries to run us off the road, so we pass him and I chuck a glass bottle out the sun roof, bouncing it across his hood. Had a small car chase for a few miles until we lost him with a quick exit. Thrilling.

The civic ex and I got on the wrong freeway (she was driving) in light traffic and wanted to take an exit a mile up or so. Put on the blinker and some hoarder and his pig wife won't let us over, speeds up and slows down to block us in, he actually yells out the shitbox pickup "sorry we don't have the time!" FUCK NO FUCK THAT.GIF we find our way around just in time to take the exit while I toss a half full Gatorade bottle across three lanes of traffic, HITTING the passenger side window. The look on miss piggy's face was so gratifying.

The best was probably the hummer that cut us off for no reason and being a general turd burglar, so I did what had to be done. I took a sheet of paper and wrote SMALL PENIS? and held it up for him to see. He was fucking LIVID! Cut us off more, passed in an exit late at the last second, seemed like he wanted us dead. Haha fuck you hummer bro!

Can't remember any other car stuff right now so it can't be as exciting as what I've already said. I'll be sure to update when it flashes back like ptsd.
