Well I'd cry too if I named my car Mark. I've never named my e30, but I have named the 190. I call her Olive. I think it's fitting.

      The current crop:
90' 325is "the rat" full name 'The little Black Track Rat"
      87 325 sedan "Basher"
85 325e coupe "Faded Glory" or just Glory.
95 Chevy K2500 " The Inedible Hulk" (its green and unstoppable)
78 Lincoln Mark V "Moby Lincoln" -the great white whale
68 Chevy Nova " the baby"
The race car hasn't revealed its name yet so for now its just the white car

      some others:
95 Corvette Convertable triple black "Black"
      03 Ford Focus "the egg"
and some cars get more than 1 name
99 Mustang Cobra vert "bubbles" because it made a happy little burbling noise or "floppy" because of how much the chassis flexed.

We have never named a japanese car, they dont have any personality
      1990 325is "the rat"/ E30 Warsteiner tribute racecar/1985 325e "faded Glory"/ 1968 Chevy II Nova "the baby"/ 2001 525i 5spd purchased May 2013 with 16k miles. Plus other junk that annoys the neighbors.

I agree that Japanese cars don't have personality unless its a classic.

All my cars have girls names because they're inanimate objects and they can be the source of most of my stress.

I named my white late model after my grandmother on my dads side (ol betty) She was a short 5 foot 105lb west virgina hillbilly, she was a sweet woman but dont piss her off. She would smack you over the head with a skillet if need so. My wife named my dd/track silver late model (dirty 30). Paints bad and clear coat is coming off.

Somehow I ended up with two red BMWs so I can't call it the red one or the BMW.
Since I"m not very creative I call him/her "Zinno"

Yea, I named my 325is Asuka, my Scirocco Yuki for now. And if I get a white E30, it's Rei, and if I get a Mk2 GTI it's Mari.
