is that thing worth having. I have never bled any brakes and was thinking about giving it a shot. should i buy one of those bleeder things?

I just got one to bleed the brakes on the e30 this weekend and I ended up just doing it the old fashioned way. With the power bleeder the fluid was running out of the bleed screw at a snails pace.
The odd thing is the same bleeder worked perfectly on my brother's e36 but did not work on the M roadster either.
Any ideas?
