You know thats like 1700 dollars plus you have to pay for shipping. You could probably get a local shop to make one for that price.

          yes,
i know i'm working hand in hand with a guy that came from the aerospace industry who is a composite master, we are gonna make some stuff, but until its done i'm not saying anything.

however should it not turn out like i want, at least that option is open even if it is expensive 8)

That CF dash is nice and all, but... why? Other than bling factor, I suppose...

I want a CF hood that fits like the factory hood, but without a bunch of heavy gell coat on it so I can paint it. cf sunroof? I can't see that making much difference, but it'll look cool. I don't care so much about the looks though, I'd just like to ditch a good 100lbs off the front of my car. :P

Would it be lighter than the factory dash?

if you're going far enough to lighten the dash, you'd probably just take it out. cf dash= bling

BLING or not it will be lighter and it will replace the factory piece since mine like alot of peoples has a crack or 2 thats so typical of e30's. besides i don't plan on putting the factory clocks back in, sshhh

and as far as the sunroof goes they say its about 15Kg lighter and its in the highest point of the car. removing that will lower the center of gravity considerably :finger:

ANYONE out there think My GMG CF Hood and Factory CF Grp A mirrors are bling? you add up the weight saving then we'll talk

Right, but the hood is at least a good place to lose weight. If you're gonna lose weight with the dash, and you're concerned enough to spend $1700, just pull the dash altogether. No dash = lighter than CF dash.

DAMNIT RoB Why you gotta shatter MY dreams man :tsk:

Well Matt I like you still drive mine daily SO i figured i need a dash for all the gauges, vents, and such; while i could just rip it completly out i'll save that for my other Project E30 if i'm going stripzilla. But yes you are correct nothing is lighter than something; just less feasible. Besides, the weight saving would actually be the second reason i would do it. The first being My dash is cracked and i can stand looking at it.

oh yea, THAS SHITZ BLING DOGG YOU KNOW HOW I ROLE :ohsnap:

The raster reflections that came from every single angle of that dash would make it almost impossible to drive.

Tint and sunglasses, besides my hood doesn't do it that bad so i wouldn't be all that worried about it
