okay. just wondering before I make some decisions. Winter and it being my DD took a serious toll on it, and when I got it on a lift today it was sad sight. Nothing unfixable, but will be costly.

I would hate to see a nice e30 like yours rust away, especially since it's a slicktop. It's lasted this long without rust and your just gonna kill it by rust like this in one winter? I'm not saying don't drive it year round and have fun in it and drive the hell out of it cause that's what e30s are for... but if you're gonna do that at least properly rustproof it. Even up here in Canadaland my e30 is pretty rare in these parts. I drive mine thru the winter here, but it's only rain.
Really?
There are about 10 e30s in my neighbourhood, not including my two. What's rare here is if they are not driven by old folks.........in my neighbourhood anyways.

From what i've seen slicktops are pretty uncommon. Rare is subjective but i'd say for every 100 e30s I see for sale there's maybe 1 slicktop.

I should have read that before embarking my car this winter.
"damage" is done though. The car isn't a rust-bucket, but I've tried to get my E30's less rusty as I buy different ones. My first E30 was a rusty POS, this is nothing like it, but lots of surface rust has accumulated in the rear subframe/trailing arms, some surface rust on the gas tank, brake lines and fuel lines will have to be replaced once the subframe is out, brake line T, all the hard brake lines on the rear subframe.
Nothing drastic, just time consuming. Have to pick up another DD and keep this one on jackstands for about a month while I do the work.
