Spotted an M-Tech II cabbie (pics)

Was picking up some parts at a VW shop when I see this baby in the parking lot:

I have never seen one of these in person, let alone in Canada. It's in terrible condition BTW, wish I had the time/space to buy it and restore it.

It doesn't look that bad really.....not like its been wrecked or vandalized. Like someone else said, give it some TLC and it would be looking great again.

As for the production figures, a total of 200 or 250 were exported to the US market. There are certainly fewer these days due to some being victims of accidents and/or theft.

That's a white m-tech cabby, with white wheels. There are thousands of those.

Real m-tech cabbies don't come in white, and the real ones ARE limited to 250 as you are talking about.

It was only done as a last ditch attempt to get rid of the e30s when the e36's came to the states.

There are thousands of these? Really? What's the difference between this one and the real M-tech cab?

For those thinking it's not it too bad of shape, it is. The wheels are actually cracked in a few places, the paint is faded badly...it generally looks un-cared for.
