That depends on how far they went with the "delete". Did they remove the AC lines in the dash? Did they cut any lines past their regular disconnect points? If not, you should just be able to bolt a system right in. Too bad I ditched all my AC stuff, I must have scrapped 3 E30 AC systems. They just don't sell around here...Comment

I've been keeping my eye on that one for a while. Is it with a dealer now? His photobucket link takes you to all kinds of cars, most of which are crap! This one looks like it has real potential. It was listed several months ago at $4400 I think. Not sure if same owner or not. Have to get rid of those daggone stickers on the hood and sides though. Says 122K original and the head was gone through? Guess it couldn't hurt, but you definitely want to look into it as deep as you can. I personally don't know much about the M42's having not owned one yet, but I digress.
Good luck and yes, continue to work him lower:oComment

Going to see it tomorrow, so we'll find out the extent of the AC delete. If its a full system removal, I might have to rethink picking it up.That depends on how far they went with the "delete". Spot on Sir ... The guy that has it now just bought it recently from the PO. PO only had it since 2011. The head has been gone through, along with gaskets and such. New front brakes too. Those stickers and even the front grill m-badge have to go for sure :D. The main selling points for me are the low miles and the rust free body. Doing my research now to find out what to look for when inspecting it, so that I'm somewhat competent when I see it on Saturday :D.I've been keeping my eye on that one for a while. I just took my A/C stuff out. I've got the mount, most of the engine bay lines and the compressor but not sure of the functionality of it. It sounds like a decent car for the price and if you pick it up and need A/C shoot me a PM.91 318is M50 swapped

Just called up the mechanic shop that checked it out last week and the guys were telling me that it needed some extensive steering and exhaust work. He said that the exhaust had some damage to it from being pushed in or out from the engines' direction. Now I'm starting to second guess this decision :D.I've been keeping my eye on that one for a while. Is it with a dealer now? Lots of searchable results. Here's a taste:
What is the problem?
A rubberized gasket (officially known as the "Timing Case Profile Gasket", often incorrectly referred to as the Head Gasket) measuring approximately 10 inches long and approximately 1.5 inches high that resides between the cylinder head and timing case is defective. I hesitate to put any exact statistics on it, but this gasket is failing at an EXTREMELY HIGH rate...I would guess a 95-97% failure rate. When it fails, coolant leaks from the engine into the engine compartment, usually near the vicinity of the passenger side of the steering rack/onto the AC compressor/onto the ground.
My understanding is that the timing cover corrodes and must either be replaced or repaired...but I am not an M42 guy.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
