It has Kamei side skirts on it, and looks like phofa (sp?) rear pieces on the apron. What front air dam does it even have?

Looks like a proper H26, but that interior is definitely from somewhere else.

          - the BBS RA wheels came on some Hartges originally, including Tavern Gnome's which has now passed through a few other owners and was for sale by GutenParts at some point in the recent past. I'm not sure if they were an upgrade or a downgrade for people who didn't want the 1-piece Hartge wheels.
          - the rear apron doesn't look right, here's a good look at one:

          - the skirts, as jason said, are Kamei
          - the motor will have a crank out of a 323i with 84mm-bore hartge-spec pistons, rods and cam. Likely a 731-casting head with some work done to it. Info on these engines throughout this thread
          - some general info here

you should get some pics of the front apron and headers. Is it a dogleg or a standard OD 5-speed?

Some things give me pause though, like the different hartge script on the back, the wrong rear and side skirts and the mismatched stripe ends. This might have been a car that was brought to Hartge some years after its purchase to have a "tuning kit" of bolt-ons thrown at it.

i think the only way to know if its a real car would be to cross reference the vin with hartge.

in the case of alpina, they put a special vin tag on the back side of the core support on the right side. i know hartge did something similar to this.

it has a lot of cool parts on it. could be real. the non hartge parts definitely give pause though.

Hartge and Alpina in the early days were just a Tuner not a manufacturer of cars. The bad thing is most of their old documentation has been lost.

Alpina keeps records of all the cars they built.

Hartge did not keep records of their cars they built. Hartge would put on a red Hartge vin. tag on their cars. The only e30s that I seen that would have the red Hartge vin. tags would be a Hartge H35. My old Hartge H26 did not have a red Hartge vin tag.
The tag should look like this.

$4k lololololololol. That car would sell it less than 10 minutes if were posted with an asking of $4k.

I agree 100%. Yes, there is some mismatching on the car, but it's still got quality parts on it and having been stored for so long is probably very low mileage.

Shit, it looks like 50K/60K on the clock. A stock E30 with that low mileage will sell for $5K+ today easy. Given a bath that thing would fetch $10K in an instant.

                              That interior though... Why?

yes, and also probably needs every seal and bushing replaced.
