I have seen Norwegian builds, where 97% of the car was rust. 8 months later the car is a 900bhp monster...

the passenger side is bad. there will be a good size hole there. i have read a thread where someone used POR15. Even if i did that i would still want to welding a piece of metal over it. Just for a piece of mind.

Might just look worse than it is. I had flaky nasty rust in my old beetle that I could hop up and down on after I wire wheeled and POR-15'd it.

Take a wire wheel to it and see what's left. If it's not affecting the structure / rigidity of the body, get some POR15 and some POR-patch and go to town.

I see too many people parting savable e30s because they're still common enough to throw away. Ten years from now, when the cars cost 2x as much for even rusty shells, guys that threw away non-structural rust cars will be kicking themselves.

Man.....part that ix.( I will take the ski -pass rear seat) lol . You don't really need it....you have a truck for bad weather. Part it and use the extra cash to fix up your new vert. Thats the car you really love!
