cost vs output vs what I had easy access to.

I'm a big lover of "mods of opertunity"

Half the shit I've done to my car is because the right parts fell into my lap at the right time.

While there is no replacement for displacement, there is still the rule of diminishing returns. I'm pretty happy with where the motor is now.

So if you had access to all the parts needed and the resources to get them, would you have gone 3.0L?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.

Sure, and if I had access and money I'd have a 800HP FI S38B40.

        But I don't.

Jordan has just as much power at 3K rpms as Dave's larger motor. That's pretty sweet.

I agree.. I've never been a fan of slapping an M30 AFM on the M20, and he made that power with a stock chip, because his JC caused bad pinging. imagine that?

So why hasnt anyone on this board put together a balls-out 3.0L?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.

because most of them are looking for ways to save $30 on a set of plug wires.

Trent was advertising that 3.0L stroker a while back that his buddy had built. I think he was trying to sell it for $7k+. I'll try to find the thread.

Oops, it was a 2.8L, I wonder if it ever found a buyer:

Maybe it's just me who believes this but I think you don't really see a balls out 3.0 stroker often is because for the large amount of money you put in to one, you don't get a justifiable amount of power out of it. If you want a 3.0, buy an S50 :)
