Anynone who understand that, what is the first chemical bath? The last one was primer but there was a clearish one with the green tint.

it's some chemical bonding agent so that the paint will adhere perfectly, they're really proud of the technology they use to paint these cars, they use some special clear coating thing, too.

I had some photos of the inside of the factory (one of the warehouse full of cars, one of just a gazillion bare e46 chassis') but my brother wiped his hard drive where they were stored (fyi: photos of the inside of the factory are strictly prohibited)

It's truly amazing to see everything in action and how all of the billions of combinations of parts come together into their respective places. I can't put into words how amazing the factories in Dingolfing and Munich are. And they dyno test every car that comes off the line to make sure that it meets specifications. Utterly amazing.

oh, and the part where the chassis meets the drivetrain is called the 'wedding' :) I thought that was cool

I think the funniest thing is how some guy was telling me the other day that welding is not a good profession anymore, because they can do all the welding with robots and save money. Is it just me or are all the structural welds done by hand?

looks like the chassis is tac welded and then all the seams are welded by hand.. heck, they still use old fasion gas for the body welding!

try the above like - Window media blows(sometimes) you can actually use a reference file and that is what you were saving to your hard drive...a text file pointing to the real file
