Where is everyone finding CRXs and Rabbits and etc?? They're insanely rare and most of their owners would never sell them.
Craigslist...I found more CRXs than e30s when I was looking. Rabbits I hardly ever see. There are 38 CRXs on my local craigslist, all in the ~$1500-3000 range.

Hmm, must vary by area, I was just looking today, only saw a few here and they were quite pricey, from 3-8k.
I DD a 2008 civic si, If you dont drive it like an asshole you can get 30-34 highway and about 25ish in the city. But at the same time plenty of power for hooning around and having fun with the 6 speed. Honda Civics are great on reliability, but the high resale value makes them over most peoples budget for a 2nd car. I got mine last fall with 65k miles for like 14.5k out the door with ttl from a dealer, you can get one for a few thousand less private party, and normal model civics will be a little better on gas and a little cheaper, but are not as much fun as the si

I am thinking of getting a commuter since my touring is too dang heavy and I want a better MPG car. My e30 has nice BFG Rivals, and I dont feel like wearing them out in daily work commute driving.
So I am thinking of getting a cheap, fun, high MPG car.
The only cars I can think of are Miata, and 318ti which both get 27+ miles per gallon. Any other ideas? Both are also reliable and can get for under 4k.
You know, if you only want cars that are similar to an E30 you clearly have your choices worked out. But if you want a different driving experience get an A2 diesel Golf for relaxed puttering or even a first gen Insight for high strung hypermiling. Fun is all relative, from sliding, to poking around to having a heart attack every time you cross a bridge, just pick a type.
