I recommended one to one of my girlfriends and she got a 92 325ic vert. She knows about cars enough and always calls me if anything is weird and I can diagnose most problems. I told her aslong as she buys all the parts i'll do the work for a dinner or something. 1 time she called saying her car wouldn't keep idle (I had saw her right before that and she was putting oil in). I said please check to see if you put oil cap back on, she popped the hood and it was not LOL big vacuum leak, she is blonde.

Whenever a friend asks me for advice on what sort of car to buy, I recommend a Honda Civic. I wouldn't drive a Civic myself, but I figure at least I won't have to deal with a friend getting annoyed with me when the car I recommended breaks down. I wouldn't recommend an e30 to anyone who wasn't a car nut, even though mine has been quite reliable.

Yep. My GF drives a black 135i with nice wheels. Tells me about guys all the time that stop at lights and talk to her. In fact just a few weeks ago a guy in a white e30 hit on her at a light in SF lol
Depends on the woman. Not all ladies suck at owning cars, although most of them do. My GF thinks something is broken every time a pebble bounces off the bottom of the car.sigpic

When I met my gf and needed to get her a new car, my older bro asked why I didnt' shop for a bmw for her too. I quickly showed my disdain to that idea. There would be a plethora of issues that she wouldn't know how to address on the spur of the moment, and many shops that would quickly take advantage of her ignorance in my absence.
She really knows how to drive our e30 well, even when pushing it to it's stock limits. But when it comes to ownership, I'd rather put her in something newer, more reliable, simplistic (to operate) and crashworthyIf it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!
