If you dont think you need gas or 220 (and you really do) dont selll yourself short on a cheap crappy welder. You will never have any sucess at all with a piece of garbage. I wouldnt consider anything but a Hobart, Miller, or Lincoln.
I disagree with having to have 220. I never weld anything over 1/4 inch and don't think I will need too. I have the Miller 135 with steel mix and has never let me down. Fantastic machine. I would only see NEEDING 220 for constant production type welding. I also like the fact I can carry around my welder and use it anywhere. I have had to weld in the living room before. You never know what can happen.

thanks for the feedback guys.. I think I probably would be better of at least getting a halfway decent one. I know sometimes I've bought cheap tools that I thought would be fine, but then they broke and I ended up having to buy the quality one anyway.

If you are unshure on weather you need 220 but want the flexibilty of 110. The above link is what you want, millermatic DVI can run on bot 110 and 220 is gas so you get teh best of both worlds (you could weld in you liveing room like trent) if you want.

          just a thought
