    What is so confusing?

    Quick Cliffs:

Guy makes thread about car being stolen as April Fools joke...
Years later, guy truly has his car stolen...
Community bands together to help try to find car...
reposts thread into multiple places, including reposts on r3v, and on jalopnik...
    Guy hasn't found car...
    Still looking...
Someone the owner of the stolen car sold something to never got his items...
Community turns and tucks tail on supporting member who had car stolen...

    Pretty straightforward, no?

I get the issue with the wheels, but I don't think that's really reason to "justify" the theft of the car as doling out karma.

The drama seems to be multifaceted, part due to April Fools Joke, part to alleged failed sales transaction. I think some people found that these threads would be a good place to air dirty laundry, and while I can't say whether or not I'd have done the same, the deed is done.

This really isn't the place to post things like that. This is not about a deal that happened in the past. This is about a very special project that someone poured their heart and soul into for many years, that was stolen by some piece of shit, who obviously never learned not to take things that didn't belong to them.

How about a new thread is started for that, and leave this one alone for the original topic at hand?

Eh, it's needed to add perspective to this story when everyone is feeling so bad for a scammer. If he can regain through insurance most of his money while robbing people of theirs... then why not share the fact?

Dunno, I'd be pretty pissed if I was out $1000 at my age.
Bad stuff sucks in general, so yeah.

Perfect example, the guy i bought my e30 from said it would pass smog, it didn't. So I was out $40 for the failed test then another $150 for a 'repair' and 'retest', being out $190 over something as small as smog sucks ass, especially when you barely make enough to drive to work sometimes!
So I understand more than enough why he's upset about being out $1k, hell I was ready to beat the shit out of the guy who sold me my car! Well mostly because he was a arrogant asshole who kept me waiting 80 miles from home with no response for 5 hours before I could even see the car. But that's a completely different story.

All in all getting your car stolen sucks, especially when it's a project car, I haven't been on forums much ever, but just seeing this one I can tell it's a bit different, and the lack of drama and general camaraderie between everyone makes this a good community to want to be a part of. I know I'm still a "noobie" here but I could care less, I've learned a lot through this forum about my car and so far in the short time of being an e30 owner it's cool to see other people who share the same enthusiasm about cars as me.

So hopefully the asshole who stole this car gets caught or ends up getting his shit stolen too. Because karma's a bitch, and what goes around comes around.
