Where to buy cheap seats for e30 vert

The front and rear seats in my 89 e30 vert are in need of replacements. The only sets I see for sale are around $1000.
Looking for pretty much anything that will fit decent, knock offs, aftermarket, OEM. Budget is like $500 atm tho e.e
I remeber seeing a post where a guy got two front seats from a vendor for $200 per, can't find it anymore.

Vert rear seats are specific to them and are more susceptable to drying out/sun damage due to being exposed to the elements more than those in their hard top bretheren. Your best bet at that price is used but you won't find much that's very nice for $500. Maybe a decent rear and some comfort front seats.

Front seats are the same as M3 seats, and IMO the best e30 seats from the factory.

I'd save up and get them recovered.

This, although a professional recovering will run you $1500-$2000 for all seats.

Otherwise you'll have to troll craigslist or ebay for someone who doesn't know what they have. The last parts car we bought had a pretty nice interior (no rips/tears) and we paid something like $300 for the whole car. Plus then you've got a parts car. Strip what you need and sell/junk the rest, you'll still come out ahead.

they are similiar but not the same. the differences are minor, but cabrio seats wont recline as far as m3. also the release lever is lower in the seat so it doesn't interfere with cabrio rear panels.

I'm a big fan of using www.car-part.com when I'm digging for used parts

it's a database of junkyards, you can search locally, or all over. just a heads up though, the search results come up highest-price first.

if u can weld u can get porsche 944 seats and weld them to your existing seat rails and they fit perfectly and the still look 80's era and not like some cheap knock off jdm seat.

944 seats have a very different shape and look terrible in e30's in my opinion, and in verts especially. I know cuz I put some in to see, hoping it would look different than in my mind. Didn't.

don't know how much of an issue it would be in Montana, but mine have gotten somewhat sun-faded, because there was a period of about a year when my motos were in my covered parking spot and the e30 was in the sun.

that's pretty much the only downside to their cheapness, IMO.
