What will it take to sell this caged chassis?

I've nearly halved my initial asking price. Put threads up on the major BMW message boards. And still no real buyers. All flakes and people with small wallets.

Now cages usually go for $3k+. By asking $1700 for a clean chassis with an 8-point cage, I have a hard time thinking that's too much.

What say you? I need this thing sold within the next two weeks.

Its kind of a tight market for a caged race build... Most people that would want to buy this probably build there own.

I would agree. You're looking to sell to a market that is very small. Not a lot of people want a caged project car. It'd be different if it was running but it's just a shell with a cage essentially.

finish build with s54 and then sell. Youd have a line out the door to buy it then.

Just a shell being sold. Parting out was my best option as the S54 build would have costed thousands more and would most definitely not have been worth it since this world is filled with cheapasses...

Problem I see selling it up here is that front attachment point...

                    ...it's not Pro3 legal.

Cages are tough. It takes time. Ironically, now's about the time
to start advertising, and just let it sit. You're trying to sell to a tiny market...

You may have a hard time thinking it's too much. But for what I see I think it is. By a considerable amount.

You'll be holding on to it for quite some time.

Probably just echoing the words of others but you're looking for a very specific customer. Most of us buy a complete E30 and go from there. I don't think you're price is out of the question at all. However you may be waiting for awhile to find that right person looking for a shell to build their dream race car on.

Kind of a bummer to see a fairly clean looking euro shell all cut up like that.

Is $1700 bucks really worth it for you to dump it? Why not go with a cheaper swap and race it like you planned?

Your original ad says you will scrap it if you do not get the amount you want.

                            Why would you do that?

I think you guys are nuts. You couldn't get that cage for less than $3500 bucks. The price seems very fair to me.
