lock de icer. Exact same thing happened to me yesterday morning. Took half an hour of driving around (and getting in and out of the passenger side) for it to thaw out.

Piss on the lock. I heard this from a guy who used to live in the yukon. He would know because its frozen all the time there.

i got the passengers door open, but the lock barely works, i took off the door panel and sprayed the lock down with wd. still nothing. i dont get it. and it hasnt gotten above 10 degrees yet. is it possible for both sides to have the same symptoms? the lock cylinder will only lock and not unlock, the pull handle on the inside doesnt cycle fully, and the lock knob wont budge?

i dont think its central locking because the trunk lock works fine, and when i turn the key to lock i can hear the actuators "locking" the locked doors. its just that the key wont turn to the unlock direction???? and the lock pulls wont budge.

Fix your vapour barrier when you have the chance. Silicon lube is the best for cold-weather applications, lithium is too thick.

i have the same problem, i went up the local Mt. only to finish snowboarding to find my car, frozen shut. Couldn't unlock them either because the knobs wouldn't pop up. Had to get it towed to above temps. But as soon as it thawed they worked fine again. I think for these situations you should get auto start and keyless entry.
