Nice body and interior! Looks just like mine did before its diet. I would grab that in a second.

I agree, $1500 is way too much for 500k miles.

So, I work on quite a few hi mileage e30's out here.

The interior condition, especially the drivers general seating area, makes me suspicious of the mileage- looks like a lower mileage car. Also, 500k of driving would play hell with the paint, and front bodywork.

Hi mile things to look for: stress cracks around the front strut towers and rear suspension mount and shock mount areas. Also, obvious replacement of engine and trans. look for a "dot r" label at the back of the head, that's a factory replacement.

Also, look for previous body repairs, and look very closely around those areas.

After living it, all it takes is one trainee tech to wrongly enter mileage in a smog or safety inspection report, and car fax will forever brand it as hi mileage or "possibly tampered".

Of course, I would say that IF it has 500k, whoever previously owned it sunk a hell of a lot of money into maintenance and care to have that car look as good as it does. Should equal a level of reliability.

            Good luck!

              Look for rust.

              Everything else can be fixed!

              I agree, that's not a 500,000 mile driver's seat...

Seems like a fair price from the pix.

Let's face it, no E30 is particularly new, so when you end up doing the
wheel bearings, CSB, and maybe a wiper or turn signal switch, that's
just business as usual. And if the motor's done 500k, it must be unbreakable.
              Or VERY well maintained.

              Either way, it's all good.

              t
now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

I bought my hardtop 2dr with 300k for 500. 1500 IMO is to much.

If it does have 500k miles, and it does look that good it means the owner took very good (expensive) care of it and it should be very reliable. I bought a similar car a few years ago. $1,500 and rolled over 300k on the way home.

                      I say go for it!

a car is worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it.

Maybe 500,000km for some reason? That would be about 310,000 miles.

I bought my e30 for 500 last month. 327k on the block, but I binder full of paperwork dating back to 1988. Didn't look 1/2 as nice as this. Buy in soon...
