    Get a chip, an exhaust if you want it to be loud, and start saving for a 24 valve engine of some sort.

      op im in the same boat right now. i have decided the cheapest way would be turboing the m20. well documented and you can do it for relatively "cheap".

        Thanks everyone... my budgets around 2k at the moment.. just wanted to get some ideas on some things I can do taking the right ways.. keep going if you got some more...

        Yes, I was looking more into swaping the engine but what are the things I have to get or do to fit that engine in there... or it goes right on?

          Chip, KA intake, exhaust? I know nothing of M20. Try some cliche stickers on the back window at a very specific angle.

            I found out that chip only gives like 5-10 hp and CAI is not better then the oem airbox.. I might be getting a cat back magnaflow soon :)... and oh yes im working on the stickers hhahahaa.. thanks

                The general consensus is that intakes and exhaust modifications on M20s give negligible, if any, gains without a reworked head. That being said, on the butt dyno a nice exhaust setup can put a bigger smile on your face.

                  LSx swap? I know its sacrilegious around here to go outside of the bmw line but honestly it is a good option.

                      As already posted, go with a chip and make sure it's tuned well. Your car looks great, don't get all loopy over hp.

                          with just a chip, prem gas, and a rainy day, you can have hella fun hooning in your e30. Far more fun (READ: dangerous, where you could harm yourself and/or your ride) than expensive mods.

                          The adrenaline rush of getting out of potentially bad situations is more than enough to make up for speed.
                          If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!
