    Miatas?

Do any of you know anything about the Miata? Anything I should know before looking at some? I know they're sexually-questionable, but there isn't a huge market for cheap 2-seater cabbies.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

The engine is a bit meh, but otherwise they're good cars. About as practical as a lotus, though.

Owning one to drive around town will put you squarely in the metro-sexual catagory. A friend of mine had a '00 model which he slapped a supercharger on. Around 220bhp once he got it all sorted out....damn quick too. I've had more than a few Spec Miatas fly by me mid-corner at an HPDE. Properly set up they can really move.

I'd consider a Miata as a track car. They are boatloads of fun to drive.

Seconded. Although a bit tight for the tall person, they are a blast. There's a fully caged S/C Miata here that whips some ass at autocrosses.

I Agree with rwh11385. MKII MR2s are fuckin hot mid engine cars. If i remember correctly they have twin cams? I don't know, they're cool cars though.

Good idea, but Miata = easier to find, cheaper, and many more proven and tested mods on the market.

                      How cheap/common are the MR2s?

I was looking at the Miata because it's everywhere, cheap, and fun.

-edit- Dave's right about that, they haven't really changed all that much in 10+ years on that car.

You dont have to sell me on Toyotas. Best cars out there AFAIC.

There just aren't too many MKIIs on the road.
