That video has made been making its way around the Net for some time now. It still amazes me everytime I watch it though.....the Ruf 911CTR (aka Yellow Bird) was an incredible car when it was introduced back in 1987. I remember reading the Road&Track article back then about the World's Fastest Car's. The CTR took top honors with its top speed of 211 or 213 (depending on who you ask).

As for my favorite part of that vid, check the insane drift through the sweeping right hander....it happens around 6:28. Whoever the driver was, they have some good track knowledge of the Nordschleife.

wow, that guy is real good at driving. I would love to learn how to drive like that. The only think i don't like is that funky looking shifter at around 5:11

My dad used to have a 71 911s targa that has a fiberglass 939 slantnose body on it. The car was hot, it had RUF wheels, whale tail, and super wide fenders. It was only a 2.7 flat 6 with triple webbers (i believe these were the specs) Got smoked by a Buick Grand National and a 911 Turbo and eventually just sat around so he sold it. Nows hes got an M roadster and hasnt been beat yet, I guess hes happy. That car was a blast though. Nothing like driving a classic porsche with a 3000 dollar exhaust. The previous owner took a loss on the sale and let it go cheap, he got a deal on it

My dad saw the video and apparently they wrecked the car three times trying to make the movie. It sure is a cool one though.

Is it normal for somebody to whip around that track with no helmet?

Sick driving though. That thing drifts like a mo' fo'.

RUF takes it "a step further"

Also ive heard it pronounced Roof is that correct?

'Roof' is the correct pronunciation. I guess the rules for lapping the 'Ring aren't very strict, or they didn't used to be.
