so im about to graduate, and my 1st choice is a school that is 26000+/year. my efc is gonna be about 10-11000/year. Question, ive gotta come up wiht a big chunk of that this summer. im thinking about working like 3rd shift at UPS or somewhere else, like an airline or charter company. then during the day having another job. anyone ever tried like working all day and night for a while to make some big cash? pros and cons?.... i know im gonna be tired as shit though if i end up doing it.

Pulling numerous work shifts within a 24 hour period is a recipe for an accident. It may work for the first few days, but eventually you are going to crash and burn. I've worked a continuous 22 hour shift before and I was fried when I finally called it quits. I was working with a group of people on a project and we had a non-negotiable deadline to meet. Afterwards my body clock was tweeked for a day or so before things got back to normal.
Now I do commend your willingness to do whatever you can to make the money you need for school. Just do it in a way that doesn't put your health and safety into jeopardy.
Good luck.

To beat Charlie to it: Sell Drugs ;)
For a real suggestion:
Don't work double shifts, you'll kill yourself. UPS pays well, but it's not easy work, and you'll be too worn out to do anything else really. Maybe if you did UPS and a light day job you'd be okay, and not have any social life. You'd be screwed if you tried to do anything other than work if you had to put in 12-16 hours a day.
One of my friends works as an assistant manager and has a lot of hours, and some good pay. The work isn't really that hard, but NOT fun. He's a H.S. senior, and it's a bagel shop. Try to be a manager, but getting hired just for the summer would be hard.
Good Luck! :)

I've worked double shifts before.. it was hell. I'd work from 2-10pm at one job and then immediately drive to my other job, and work 11pm-7:30am. If I got any sleep at all, it wasn't much. Once I ended up not sleeping for 2 days straight, just working. Anyway, it was shitty, and after 3 months, I couldn't stand it anymore so I quit my second job. I was pretty fried after that too.. now I work at night still and go to school during the morning, but it's not nearly as hard as working and I still get 8 hours sleep a day.

OSU really isn't that bad as "large" campuses go. After your first year, you'll probably already have some sort of an idea where your degree is going to be, so you'll mostly be dealing with people & classes within your department, so the size thing goes away. OSU newark is even smaller, and very cheap, it's essentally a community college, much different than the main campus.
You can flunk out of any college easily during your first year if you can't handle a little independance, doesn't matter if you're paying 6k a year or 26k.
